Passports for Seniors

The British Home Secretary has announced that a gratis (free) passport scheme for all British passport holders over the age of 75, including those resident overseas, has been implemented with effect from 18 October 2004. All applicants born before 2 September 1929 are eligible for the scheme.

Anyone who qualifies for the scheme and who obtained and paid for a passport after the scheme was first announced on 19 May 2004, will now be eligible for a refund.
